Why does John Mc Cain keep bring up his war record we know he was a POW---so what!?

He doesn't bring it up I have been to McCain rallies and he doesn't bring it up the people supporting him do. Plus It's not so much that he was a POW, it's what he did while a POW. He was given the opportunity to leave the POW camp but refused because POW's had a code first in first out. He stood by that code even though they tortured him everyday because he refused to leave. He was an officer which means he is to take charge of all men of a lower rank and to lead them to keep there moral up and to make sure they are alright. He didn't leave them he lead them. After being tortured and dragged back to his cell he would smile at the other American POW's and give them a thumbs up as if everything was somehow ok. Men that were there with McCain said he was the reason they made it. He never gave up that shows alot about his person. It is character qualities that are important the President should have. He was there for years all because he needed to lead the men that were also there. He was and is a great man and his actions during his time in that POW camp shows it. Maybe that's why people keep bringing it up or it might be cause he's not black or a women so he actually needs to have qualities of a President.
