1997 Buick Skylark Custom 2.4L Charging System?

My daughter has a 1997 Buick Skylark. The starter went bad. We replaced it and then one day later the batttery light on the dash illuminated. Checked the alternator and was not getting charging power to battery. Bought new alternator and still have no charging to battery. I would appreciate any istance.
