My mom won't let me watch Elfen Lied!!!?

I wanna watch it sooooo bad!!! Just cause it has gore in it! But I've seen When They Cry!!! She's just like,"It's not good for you to see violence! Seriously! A man's head gets blown off!" And I'm just thinking to myself, ya so? Geez! Help me!
