What is an x-ray microscope used for?

im doing a project for my biology cl and i need to know what an x-ray microscope is used for. i can only find specific projects ppl are working on. if you know something less complicated (i.e. something simply stated like, "to find cancerous cells") please let me know! thanks!:)
